According to information obtained by Six6s, Gill’s platelet count has been low for some time, which is why he did not travel with the team to Delhi, where India’s upcoming match against Afghanistan is scheduled to take place. The team management was advised medically to steer clear of flying while the platelet count was low. The BCCI confirmed in a statement earlier on Monday that Gill won’t be available for the Delhi game.
Shubman Gill, the team’s batsman, won’t be going to Delhi with the team on October 9, 2023. The team’s opening batter, who missed the team’s first game against Australia in Chennai as part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, is expected to miss the team’s upcoming game against Afghanistan in Delhi on October 11.
