Hathurusingha exhorts Bangladesh to draw inspiration from recent World Cup upsets.

Chandika Hathurusingha, the head coad of Bangladesh, stated on Wednesday that his team is drawing motivation from recent upsets in the ICC World Cup as they get ready to play India.

Afghanistan’s victory over England and the Netherlands’s victory over South Africa gave the World Cup some excitement. Bangladesh now appears eager to join the celebration by knocking India, who has yet to lose a match in the tournament, down to earth.

Bangladesh made their international debut by defeating India in the 2007 World Cup, but despite coming close, they lost to their Asian neighbors in 2011, 2015, and 209. Nevertheless, tourists can draw motivation from the fact that Bangladesh has triumphed three times over India in one-day internationals (ODIs) over the past four encounters.

“World Cus is really starting because what happened last week (in the game between Afghanistan and Netherlands). Chandika Haruthisingha told reporters on Wednesday, “That inspires us all.

We still believe we can win the remaining six games. That serves as both inspiration and motivation for the future, he said.

“We’ve had recent success against India, but the World Cup is a different ballgame. The performance should be complete, we hope. If we play to our potential and India, the World Cup’s in-form team, has a poor game, it will benefit us. Starting strong is important, he said.

“The only thing I can ask of my team is that we give it everything we’ve got. After that, I have very little control over the result. I believe we can defeat any team if we perform to our full potential,” he added.

Shakib al Hasan’s scan results for the quad tear he suffered in the most recent game are awaited, according to Hathurusingha.

Shakib, who suffered a slight quad tear during the match against New Zealand, skipped the optional training session on Wednesday at MCA but batted for 45 minutes in the nets on October 17 to see whether he can make him available for the game.

“He( Shakib) had a good batting session yesterday. He did a bit of running between the wickets as well. We are waiting for the result of the scan we did today. We haven’t tried his bowling yet. We will assess him tomorrow morning, and make a decision,” said Hathurusingha

“We won’t take a chance if he isn’t prepared to play. There is a chance that he will play tomorrow if he is prepared, the coach said, adding that they have a process they follow before deciding whether to include a cricketer returning from injury.

“The medical staff comes first in any injury situation. They offer us their viewpoint. And they are either red lights or green lights. They inform us about the players’ identities and locations. The captain and the coach must decide whether there is a risk in terms of playing, in terms of tactical considerations, whether it is 100% or if you can do one discipline or both disciplines, if the player has the option of playing or not. Yes, that is how the procedure operates, he said, implying that they might alter their starting lineup against India.

“We have a different lineup in mind for India. According to the opposition and the pitch,” he said.

“You should offer a second bowling option. It will be a good wicket. India’s batting order is very strong. That’s one thing we’re thinking about, he said.

Hathurusingha insisted that despite frequent batting order changes, they are not uneasy rather they are underperforming at the current ICC World Cup.

Though Hathurusingha begs to differ, Bangladesh has lost three or more wickets inside of 100 runs on nine occasions out of their last 11 ODIs, and in each of their tournament games, they have fielded a different batting lineup, which hardly suggests that the batting unit is a settled one.

“We don’t feel uneasy. We are not yet meeting our goals in terms of performance. I am aware of the players’ desire to perform better. In the batting group, we haven’t given a complete performance, Hathurusingha told reporters on Wednesday.

“Our strategy and what we believe to be our best lineup for the game determine the batting order. The players are informed of these details in advance. We have also practiced how we want to play. Nobody expresses dissatisfaction. We will stick to our plan for this World Cup because sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t,” he said.

“Hopefully this game, as we are playing on a really good pitch, and we are expecting to have a complete batting performance tomorrow,” he stated.

“This pitch is arguably the best batting pitch we have yet to find. Even the practice wickets resembled one another. Yesterday’s net session was excellent. With ball and bat, we haven’t given a complete performance. We are required to perform in its entirety. We have defeated strong teams, so we are aware that we play as a team and perform to the best of our abilities. In the past, we have had success. I believe we are having one of those days, fingers crossed,” he continued.
